Adeptus
Ministorum

The Adeptus Ministorum, also known as the Ecclesiarchy, is the official state church of the Imperium of Man which spans much of the galaxy. The Adeptus Ministorum is responsible for the spiritual well-being of the Imperium’s citizens and for spreading the worship of the Emperor, who is revered as a deity.

The Adeptus Ministorum, for their divine mission, is a powerful and influential organization within the Imperium. This power, and the greed that surrounds it, has resulted in priests and officials colluding to wield authority and influence to the detriment of the Imperial citizenry.

Faction Tropes

Do as I say, not as I do

  • The priests and officials of the Adeptus Ministorum are outwardly seen as being devout and zealous in their devotion to the Emperor and the Imperium… but behind closed doors? Hoo, boy. These corrupt bureaucrats are just as willing to use their influence and authority to further their own agendas and interests as any Chaos-leaning renegade — but for the Emperor, of course…

Burn them! Burn them with fire!

  • The Adeptus Ministorum are opposed to the influence of other religions or belief systems within the Imperium. This means that they’ll either (a) purge the nonbelievers with fire for straying from the Imperial Creed, or (b) if the heretics prove too big and influential, try to decorate their faith as a ‘unique backward interpretation’. Tree Symbolism? Oh, that’s just the Golden Throne. Don’t worry about it.

Kneel for the next 10,000 years

  • The Adeptus Ministorum are a source of stability and order within the Imperium, working to maintain the status quo and protect the realm from external and internal threats. They’ve done this by keeping everything rigid and immobile. New ideas are not welcome, and anyone trying to reform the church is likely ending up in a bodybag.
