Assassinorum
The Officio Assassinorum is a secret organization within the Imperium of Man tasked with the duty of carrying out assassinations on behalf of the Imperium.
The Officio Assassinorum is composed of several different orders, or factions, each with its own focus and methods ranging from close-combat, disguises, long-range, biochemical, and psychic assassination.
Specializing in covert operations and intrigue, they seek to eliminate high-value targets or threats before they happen.
Faction Tropes
We are few, but we are everywhere
- The Officio Assassinorum is made up of 5 temples which have mastered a unique style of assassinations:
– The Vanus Temple: This order specializes in political assassinations and sabotage, and their operatives are often referred to as “interrogators.”
– The Vindicare Temple: This order specializes in long-range assassination and sniping, and their operatives are often referred to as “templars.”
– The Callidus Temple: This order specialized in infiltration, disguise, and close-range assassination, and their operatives are often referred to as “callidus.”
– The Culexus Temple: This order specialized in psychic assassination and the use of anti-psyker weapons, and their operatives are often referred to as “cullexus.”
– The Eversor Temple: This order specialized in close-combat assassination and the use of biochemicals and genetic enhancements, and their operatives are often referred to as “eversors.”
You're saying we're some sort of Suicide Squad?
- Occasionally, the Officio Assassinorum is required to unify its temples to carry out special operations. This order creates a specialized team of assassins assembled for high-priority or especially difficult assassination missions, calling it a “Execution Force”.
I have become death
- Agents of the Officio Assassinorum are hyper-indoctrinated (or flat out drugged) into a sense of fealty and duty to the Imperium. Their desire to protect the Imperium from threats both external and internal, or a belief in the righteousness of their cause, motivates them to carry out death on any target… but should their indoctrination crack (or drugs wear out) you are left with an individual who may (or may not) struggle to come to terms with how they’ve been turned into a living weapon. What happens next?
